Accessibility Statement

Sornione Ltd · Last updated: September 2026

This statement applies to the website at sornione.com, operated by Sornione Ltd. We are committed to making this website as accessible as possible to all users.

Our commitment

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. We have designed it with accessibility in mind from the start, and we continue to improve it.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We have not yet commissioned a formal external audit, and the self-assessment below reflects our own evaluation of the current build.

What we have done

The following accessibility features are implemented in the current version of this website:

Structure and navigation

  • Every page has exactly one H1 heading
  • Heading hierarchy is logical on every page (H1 → H2 → H3)
  • Navigation uses semantic HTML elements including nav, main, section and footer
  • Skip-to-content links are not yet implemented (see known limitations)
  • All navigation can be operated by keyboard
  • Dropdown menus are accessible via keyboard using Tab and Escape
  • The active page is marked with aria-current="page"
  • Dropdown parent links use aria-haspopup and aria-expanded

Forms

  • All form inputs have associated labels using for/id attributes
  • Required fields are marked with aria-required
  • Error and success messages use aria-live="polite" and role="status"
  • The contact form and consultation survey both have accessible validation feedback
  • Form buttons have descriptive text

Images and media

  • All images have descriptive alt attributes
  • Decorative images use empty alt="" to be ignored by screen readers
  • No content is conveyed through images alone without a text equivalent
  • There are currently no video or audio elements on this website

Colour and contrast

  • Body text uses dark colour on light backgrounds throughout
  • Interactive elements have visible focus indicators
  • Colour is not used as the sole means of conveying information
  • Gold accent text on white backgrounds uses a darker shade (#907220) for small text to improve contrast

Motion and animation

  • All scroll-reveal animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query
  • Content is visible without JavaScript — animations are progressively enhanced
  • No content flashes more than three times per second

Responsive design

  • The website is fully responsive and tested on mobile, tablet and desktop viewports
  • Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
  • No horizontal scrolling is required on any page at standard viewport widths

Known limitations

We are aware of the following accessibility limitations in the current build:

Page / FeatureIssuePlan
All pagesSkip-to-main-content link not yet implementedTo be added in the next update
Interactive experience pageRoom sensor visualisation is not fully operable by keyboardKeyboard-accessible alternative to be designed
System configuratorCard selection relies on mouse click — keyboard operability is partialTo be improved with explicit button roles
All imagesNo explicit width/height attributes — may cause layout shift on slow connectionsTo be added as we replace stock photography with owned images
SurveySome radio/checkbox groups lack fieldset/legend groupingTo be added in the next survey update
Unsplash imagesImages served from third-party CDN — we cannot guarantee their server-side accessibility attributesResolved when stock photography is replaced

Technical information

This website is built with HTML5, CSS3 and vanilla JavaScript. It does not use any JavaScript frameworks that might introduce accessibility barriers. It is tested on:

  • Chrome and Safari on macOS
  • Safari on iOS (iPhone)
  • Chrome on Android
  • VoiceOver on iOS and macOS (basic testing)

We have not yet tested with JAWS, NVDA or other dedicated screen reader software. We intend to carry out more formal testing as the site develops.

Feedback and contact

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you experience any difficulty using it, or if you find content that is not accessible to you, please contact us:

  • Email: info@sornione.com
  • Post: Sornione Ltd, 264 Rugby Road, Coventry, CV3 2BD

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within five working days.

Enforcement

If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you may contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) at equalityadvisoryservice.com. The EASS is an independent organisation that can provide advice and support.

Review

This statement was written in September 2026. We will review and update it as the website develops and as we carry out further accessibility testing.
